[0:44]

Hi everybody, welcome.

[0:50]

Miss Kelly here.

[0:52]

Let's practise our school yoga together.

[0:56]

Thank you for being ready in easy pose,

[0:59]

sitting down on the ground, crossed ankles, sitting

[1:03]

up nice and tall, hands together, easy pose.

[1:10]

Wonderful for us to sit in easy pose.

[1:13]

Yes, we feel good sitting nice and tall.

[1:18]

I have a story.

[1:21]

Thank you for listening.

[1:25]

Remember, I have two kittens, Freya and Fernando.

[1:29]

Well, this story is about Freya, the one

[1:35]

that has all the courage and is learning

[1:37]

how to be gentle.

[1:40]

When I come into my home, everybody, I

[1:45]

open the door, I close the door carefully.

[1:50]

I take my shoes off inside the door

[1:53]

and then I go inside.

[1:56]

And I will put my shoes away in

[1:59]

the closet later.

[2:00]

I always take my shoes off at the

[2:03]

door.

[2:05]

The other day, I came home, opened the

[2:09]

door, closed the door carefully, took off my

[2:14]

shoes at the door, walked into the kitchen,

[2:18]

had a nice glass of water.

[2:22]

I turned back around and what?

[2:27]

Everybody, I saw my kitten Freya standing in

[2:35]

my shoes.

[2:37]

Kittens don't wear shoes.

[2:40]

What is going on?

[2:41]

There she was, standing in my shoes, so

[2:47]

cute.

[2:48]

And it made me think of something that

[2:53]

we say.

[2:56]

Sometimes we say, imagine standing in someone's shoes.

[3:02]

What does that mean?

[3:05]

When we imagine standing in someone's shoes, everyone,

[3:12]

it means that we imagine how someone is

[3:17]

feeling and we are kind.

[3:26]

So please sit up nice and tall, hands

[3:28]

into calm hearts.

[3:30]

Calm breathing, calm hearts helps us to imagine

[3:35]

how someone feels and be kind to them.

[3:41]

There is a word that means imagine how

[3:46]

someone feels and show kindness.

[3:49]

Let's learn this word together.

[3:51]

The word is empathy.

[3:55]

Starts with an E.

[3:57]

Let's say empathy.

[4:01]

Well, having empathy, thinking about how others feel

[4:07]

and being kind to them is a very,

[4:10]

very good way to be.

[4:11]

And if we have empathy in our classroom,

[4:15]

we imagine how our classmates feel and our

[4:17]

teachers feel, we have great learning.

[4:22]

Let's practise our calm breathing, calm hearts.

[4:26]

Hands are together and we will sing our

[4:29]

hearts, our calm.

[4:32]

Hands into those beautiful calm hearts, peaceful calm

[4:35]

hearts.

[4:38]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[4:45]

Good, everybody.

[4:46]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[4:53]

And here we go.

[4:54]

Calm breath in.

[5:10]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[5:14]

Excellent.

[5:15]

And hands are down.

[5:17]

Easy pose, sitting tall.

[5:19]

Now hands on two knees.

[5:21]

Left hand.

[5:24]

And we're making an arm circle like a

[5:26]

smiling face.

[5:27]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[5:32]

Oh, yes, we like to smile at others.

[5:34]

Yes, we do.

[5:35]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[5:39]

Maybe it's a rainbow smiling face.

[5:42]

Calm breath in.

[5:44]

And calm breath out to the centre.

[5:47]

Good, everybody.

[5:47]

Hands into calm hearts.

[5:49]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[5:53]

Easy pose, sitting tall.

[5:55]

Hands on two knees.

[5:56]

We have our right hand.

[5:57]

We're ready.

[5:59]

We're making a circle like a smiling face

[6:03]

together.

[6:05]

And let's take our calm breath in and

[6:10]

calm breath out.

[6:11]

Be careful.

[6:12]

Draw a nice, wonderful, smiling face.

[6:15]

Be focused.

[6:17]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[6:20]

Good.

[6:21]

Not a big circle, just medium.

[6:23]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[6:28]

Wonderful.

[6:30]

Calm hearts.

[6:31]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[6:36]

Easy pose, sitting tall.

[6:38]

Hands on two knees.

[6:40]

You know, sometimes we could look at people

[6:45]

with our smiling eyes.

[6:47]

Nice, wonderful eyes.

[6:50]

Let's make a circle like little, smiling, kind

[6:56]

eyes.

[6:57]

With our head, we're going carefully.

[7:00]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[7:04]

It's a small circle.

[7:05]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[7:10]

Opposite way.

[7:12]

We have our nice, tiny circle like smiling,

[7:18]

kind eyes.

[7:20]

Small, small circle like little eyes.

[7:25]

Good, everybody.

[7:25]

To the centre.

[7:27]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:31]

Easy pose, sitting tall.

[7:33]

Hands on two knees.

[7:35]

Shoulder circles back and around.

[7:37]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:43]

We like to have healthy, calm bodies.

[7:45]

Yes, we do.

[7:46]

To the front.

[7:48]

Shoulder circles.

[7:49]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:54]

Excellent.

[7:55]

Sitting tall.

[7:57]

Let's take our calm hearts overhead.

[8:00]

Head.

[8:02]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[8:08]

Excellent.

[8:09]

Calm breathing, calm hearts.

[8:11]

So let's do our side bends.

[8:15]

Sit up nice and tall.

[8:17]

Easy pose.

[8:18]

Hands on two shoulders.

[8:19]

We're going to say calm.

[8:22]

Hearts have empathy.

[8:27]

Empathy.

[8:28]

Hmm?

[8:29]

We think about how others feel and we're

[8:31]

kind to them.

[8:32]

Here we go.

[8:34]

It's just a little bit side to side.

[8:37]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[8:43]

Let's say it together.

[8:45]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[8:51]

And again.

[8:51]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[8:59]

Sit extra tall.

[9:01]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[9:06]

Good and hands are down.

[9:09]

Okay, we are going to stand in just

[9:12]

a moment and we are going to move

[9:15]

together.

[9:17]

And let's say our wonderful sentence again.

[9:20]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[9:27]

You ready?

[9:29]

Carefully, let's stand.

[9:34]

And step one, feet are out.

[9:38]

It's not too far.

[9:40]

Feet are still.

[9:42]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[9:47]

Very nice.

[9:48]

Step two, arms go out.

[9:52]

Make room for your neighbour.

[9:53]

Move over.

[9:55]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[9:59]

We're going to move together and say calm

[10:03]

hearts have empathy.

[10:08]

Let's go together.

[10:10]

Touch your leg.

[10:15]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[10:23]

Good.

[10:23]

Again.

[10:26]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[10:35]

Yes, one more.

[10:38]

Calm hearts have empathy.

[10:47]

Very nice.

[10:48]

Let's see those wonderful calm hearts.

[10:50]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[10:55]

Good, everybody.

[10:57]

Hands and arms are down.

[11:00]

Feet are closer.

[11:03]

Have a seat in easy pose.

[11:09]

Good, everybody.

[11:11]

We practise our school meditation.

[11:14]

Remember, Ms. Kelly says it's one of the

[11:16]

best things to practise every day.

[11:19]

I do.

[11:22]

Well, we want to have calm brains that

[11:26]

imagine how people feel, think about how others

[11:31]

feel.

[11:32]

We want to have calm hearts that are

[11:36]

peaceful with others, that show kindness to others.

[11:42]

That means we have empathy and it also

[11:47]

means that we can keep learning.

[11:49]

Our learning is so great with our calm

[11:53]

brain, calm hearts.

[11:57]

Here we go.

[12:38]

You're doing great.

[12:57]

Good, everybody.

[12:58]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[13:04]

And hands are down.

[13:06]

Let's remember Ms. Kelly's story.

[13:10]

When I came home and I left my

[13:17]

shoes by the door in the kitchen, when

[13:20]

I turned back around, what did I see

[13:24]

that was so funny?

[13:28]

Yes, my kitten Freya standing in my shoes.

[13:34]

Kittens don't wear shoes, but oh, pretty wave,

[13:37]

standing in my shoes.

[13:40]

And it made me think of that wonderful

[13:43]

thing we say, imagine standing in someone's shoes.

[13:48]

What does it mean?

[13:49]

What did we say that means?

[13:58]

Yes, we imagine how others are feeling.

[14:04]

And, oh, it's so important.

[14:06]

And we are kind to them.

[14:11]

And it means we have what?

[14:14]

What's the word that starts with an E

[14:17]

when we imagine how others feel and we

[14:21]

show kindness?

[14:26]

Empathy, calm breathing, calm hearts.

[14:30]

Helps us to have empathy.

[14:32]

Everybody, please lift your calm hearts.

[14:34]

If you're going to think about how others

[14:36]

feel, imagine how they feel today and show

[14:38]

them kindness.

[14:40]

You can do it.

[14:42]

All right, that's how we have our great

[14:45]

learning.

[14:46]

Let's end our class.

[14:48]

Calm breath in, calm breath out.

[14:52]

And calm breath in.

[14:55]

Smiling, calm hearts.

[14:59]

Thank you, everybody.

[15:02]

We practise our calm breathing, calm hearts every

[15:05]

day.

[15:07]

Smiling, calm hearts open our learning.

[15:12]

See you soon.

[0:44]

Hi everybody, welcome.

[0:49]

Ms. Kelly here.

[0:51]

We're practicing our school yoga together.

[0:54]

We are sitting in easy pose, sitting on

[0:57]

the ground, ankles crossed, sitting up tall, feeling

[1:02]

great hands together.

[1:04]

Now we learned that calm breathing, calm hearts

[1:10]

help us to have empathy.

[1:16]

Let's say that word together.

[1:18]

Empathy.

[1:21]

What does it mean?

[1:24]

Imagining how someone else feels, think about how

[1:28]

someone's feeling, and, and, and, show kindness, be

[1:37]

kind to them.

[1:39]

Oh my goodness, well, we really like to

[1:41]

have empathy.

[1:43]

You know, what about having empathy for our

[1:47]

lunch staff, the wonderful people that help us

[1:51]

to have lunch every day.

[1:53]

When we go through the lunch line, can

[1:55]

we imagine how they feel, how hard they're

[1:58]

working, and they want us to eat healthy?

[2:00]

And can we show kindness to them?

[2:02]

Oh, yes, we can.

[2:05]

Well, we can look around and we can

[2:07]

see there's so many wonderful people that we

[2:12]

can have empathy for.

[2:14]

Yes, we can even have empathy for our

[2:17]

pets.

[2:19]

Freya standing in my shoes.

[2:22]

I always imagine how Freya feels.

[2:26]

And I show her as much kindness as

[2:28]

possible.

[2:29]

I have empathy for Freya.

[2:31]

All right, everybody.

[2:33]

Well, we want to practice our calm breathing,

[2:35]

calm hearts, so that we have empathy in

[2:38]

our classroom and everywhere.

[2:41]

So we're learning in our classroom and all

[2:44]

the time.

[2:46]

Sitting tall, hands together, we're going to sing

[2:50]

our hearts are calm today.

[2:53]

And hands into calm hearts.

[2:56]

Calm breath in.

[2:58]

And calm breath out.

[3:02]

Good.

[3:02]

Calm breath in.

[3:04]

And calm breath out.

[3:08]

And together.

[3:09]

Calm breath in.

[3:12]

Our hearts are calm today.

[3:26]

Our calm breath out.

[3:29]

Very nice.

[3:30]

Hands are down.

[3:32]

Let's move our arms, our hands today.

[3:35]

Let's make our patterns.

[3:36]

Say our nice words together.

[3:39]

Wonderful, joyful, calm hearts together.

[3:42]

Okay, let's say and do this.

[3:47]

Calm hearts.

[3:53]

Imagine how others feel and show kindness.

[4:00]

Are we ready?

[4:06]

Imagine how others feel and show kindness.

[4:16]

Calm hearts.

[4:20]

Imagine how others feel and show kindness.

[4:28]

One more.

[4:29]

Calm hearts.

[4:33]

Imagine how others Imagine how others feel and

[4:38]

show kindness.

[4:41]

Excellent.

[4:42]

We are practicing our calm breathing, calm hearts.

[4:44]

So good for us and everyone around us.

[4:47]

Calm breath in.

[4:49]

And calm breath out.

[4:51]

Thank you for sitting tall.

[4:53]

Calm breath in.

[4:55]

[5:13]

Peaceful with others.

[5:15]

[5:20]

Peaceful learning every day.

[5:23]

[5:28]

And one more together.

[5:30]

Calm breath in.

[5:32]

And calm breath out.

[5:35]

Excellent.

[5:36]

And hands are down.

[5:39]

So, empathy.

[5:44]

What does it mean?

[5:49]

Yes, imagine how others are feeling.

[5:53]

Think about how others are feeling.

[5:56]

And what's so important when we do that?

[5:59]

And we show kindness.

[6:02]

Yes, everybody.

[6:04]

Calm breathing, calm hearts helps us to have

[6:07]

empathy and to learn.

[6:10]

Remember when you walk through the lunch line,

[6:13]

think about how all those wonderful people are

[6:17]

working and helping us to have lunch and

[6:19]

show them kindness.

[6:22]

Let's do that with everyone around us.

[6:25]

Very good.

[6:26]

Sit nice and tall.

[6:28]

Calm breath in.

[6:29]

And calm breath out.

[6:32]

And calm breath in.

[6:35]

Smiling, calm hearts.

[6:39]

Thank you, everybody.

[6:42]

We practice our calm breathing, calm hearts every

[6:45]

day.

[6:46]

Yes.

[6:48]

Smiling, calm hearts.

[6:51]

Open our learning.

[6:55]

See you soon.
