[0:43]

Hi everybody, Ms. Kelly here.

[0:50]

Let's practice our school yoga together.

[0:53]

We sit in easy pose and I see

[0:55]

lots of people ready, sitting up nice and

[0:58]

tall, hands together.

[1:01]

I have a story.

[1:03]

Thank you for listening.

[1:06]

I was at the grocery store one day

[1:09]

and getting some wonderful healthy food.

[1:14]

I went to the counter to pay and

[1:18]

then I remembered, oh, I'm feeling very thirsty.

[1:22]

I really need something to drink.

[1:24]

So I asked the lady working at the

[1:27]

grocery store, could I quickly go over and

[1:31]

get a drink?

[1:32]

She said, yes.

[1:33]

Now there was a long line of people

[1:36]

behind me.

[1:37]

I went so fast over to the big

[1:41]

case with all the drinks, so many to

[1:43]

choose from.

[1:44]

And oh, I saw this one.

[1:50]

It's called blossom water.

[1:55]

It looks so nice.

[1:57]

It has a pomegranate fruit.

[1:59]

It has a flower on the front.

[2:03]

I said, I will take this blossom water.

[2:07]

In fact, I will take two, one for

[2:09]

today and one for later.

[2:11]

I quickly went back to the line.

[2:13]

I paid for everything.

[2:15]

I got into my car, so thirsty.

[2:19]

I opened up one of the blossom waters.

[2:24]

Wow, this was really good.

[2:27]

Kind of sweet.

[2:30]

I thought to myself, I wonder what the

[2:33]

ingredients are in the blossom water.

[2:36]

So I read the ingredients.

[2:41]

Number one ingredient, water.

[2:44]

Very good.

[2:45]

We must have water every day.

[2:48]

Second ingredient, organic blue agave.

[2:53]

Good.

[2:54]

Natural.

[2:57]

Third ingredient, I don't even know this word.

[3:05]

Oh my goodness.

[3:10]

Erythritol?

[3:13]

What is erythritol?

[3:16]

Well, I looked it up on my phone.

[3:20]

Uh-oh.

[3:21]

Everybody, erythritol is not natural.

[3:26]

It's made by a machine and it makes

[3:30]

the drink sweet.

[3:32]

But I don't want to eat something that's

[3:35]

not natural and artificial.

[3:38]

What happened here?

[3:40]

How did I choose this drink?

[3:44]

So I thought for a moment.

[3:45]

I just paused, thinking carefully.

[3:49]

I took a calm breath in and a

[3:52]

calm breath out, thinking what happened.

[3:56]

Calm hearts.

[3:57]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[4:01]

Oh, I see what I did.

[4:06]

I went so fast over to pick the

[4:11]

drink from the case.

[4:14]

Everybody, if I had slowed down, if I

[4:20]

had focused, then I would have read the

[4:25]

ingredients and I would not have gotten the

[4:29]

blossom water, something more healthy.

[4:32]

So everybody, please sit up nice and tall

[4:35]

with me and hands together in calm hearts.

[4:38]

Please say, slow down.

[4:44]

Please say, focus.

[4:48]

Now, our calm breathing, our calm hearts, help

[4:53]

us to slow down and focus.

[4:57]

And that is what we need to do

[4:59]

to make good choices, to have better learning.

[5:05]

Slow down and focus.

[5:07]

So let's practice.

[5:09]

Ready?

[5:11]

Hands together.

[5:13]

And we will sing our hearts, our calm,

[5:16]

today.

[5:17]

And hands are too calm hearts.

[5:18]

Thank you.

[5:19]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[5:24]

Good, everybody.

[5:26]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[5:31]

And together, calm breath in.

[5:35]

Our hearts are calm today.

[5:39]

Our hearts are calm today.

[5:43]

Our hearts are calm today.

[5:47]

Calm breath in.

[5:49]

Calm breath out.

[5:51]

Good, everybody.

[5:52]

Easy pose, sitting tall, hands on two knees.

[5:55]

Take our left hand.

[5:57]

Let's make a circle like a pomegranate.

[6:00]

Calm breath in at the top.

[6:02]

Nice fruit.

[6:04]

Calm breath out.

[6:06]

Let's go together.

[6:08]

Pomegranate circle.

[6:10]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[6:14]

Very nice.

[6:14]

One more.

[6:16]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[6:20]

To the center.

[6:22]

Our calm hearts.

[6:23]

Calm breath in.

[6:25]

Calm breath out.

[6:27]

Easy pose.

[6:28]

Sitting tall, hands on two knees.

[6:30]

We have our right hand.

[6:32]

Let's make a circle like a very healthy

[6:36]

orange.

[6:38]

And go slowly, everybody.

[6:41]

Calm breath in, top of the orange.

[6:44]

And calm breath out.

[6:46]

Very good.

[6:48]

Go slowly.

[6:49]

Focus.

[6:50]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[6:54]

Nice.

[6:54]

To the center.

[6:56]

Calm hearts.

[6:57]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:01]

Easy pose, sitting tall, hands on two knees.

[7:04]

We're going to make a tiny circle like

[7:06]

the cap on the top of the drink.

[7:09]

Very slowly.

[7:12]

Calm breath in.

[7:13]

Head is back.

[7:15]

Calm breath out.

[7:16]

Head is forward.

[7:19]

Good.

[7:20]

Opposite way.

[7:22]

Now we do need our calm brains so

[7:25]

we can focus, everybody.

[7:27]

Calm breath in.

[7:29]

Calm breath out.

[7:31]

To the center.

[7:32]

Calm hearts.

[7:33]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:37]

Easy pose.

[7:39]

Sitting tall, hands on two knees and our

[7:41]

shoulder circles.

[7:42]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:47]

Calm bodies.

[7:48]

Slowing down.

[7:49]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[7:53]

Good.

[7:54]

To the center.

[7:57]

And our nice wonderful calm hearts ready.

[8:00]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[8:05]

Very nice.

[8:07]

Okay.

[8:08]

So we're going to make our butterflies and

[8:13]

we're going to make room for our neighbor.

[8:16]

Remember our favorite butterflies.

[8:18]

Take our left leg out and our right

[8:21]

knee bent.

[8:23]

If you're close to neighbor, move over.

[8:25]

It's a nice thing to do and hands

[8:27]

are ready.

[8:30]

And color of our wings today.

[8:32]

How about blue and gold stripe?

[8:37]

Blue and gold stripes.

[8:42]

And color of our butterflies.

[8:44]

Calm heart.

[8:45]

Teacher will choose someone.

[8:47]

Let's raise hand.

[8:54]

Good.

[8:54]

Let's put something on the wings for all

[8:57]

of the people that work in the grocery

[9:00]

stores.

[9:01]

We should be kind to them.

[9:03]

Yes.

[9:03]

What is something nice for all of the

[9:07]

people that work in the grocery stores?

[9:12]

And how about beautiful clean water to drink?

[9:18]

Yes, everybody.

[9:19]

Here we go.

[9:21]

Calm breath in.

[9:21]

Butterflies were up.

[9:23]

Calm breath out to the left.

[9:26]

Calm breath in.

[9:27]

Up we go.

[9:29]

Calm breath out and over.

[9:32]

Good.

[9:32]

And again.

[9:33]

Calm breath in and calm breath out.

[9:37]

Go carefully.

[9:39]

Slow down.

[9:40]

Calm breath in.

[9:43]

Calm breath out to the center.

[9:46]

And let's draw calm hearts for everyone who

[9:48]

works in grocery stores.

[9:50]

They help so many people.

[9:52]

Draw one side of our calm hearts.

[9:55]

Draw other side of our calm hearts.

[9:57]

Let's put in a glass of water.

[10:02]

Beautiful glass of water.

[10:04]

Calm breath in.

[10:06]

And calm breath out.

[10:08]

Good, everybody.

[10:09]

And we change our sides.

[10:13]

So remember, slow down when we move.

[10:17]

Be careful.

[10:18]

Right leg is out.

[10:20]

Left knee is bent.

[10:21]

Sitting up tall.

[10:22]

Butterflies are ready.

[10:24]

Color of our wings.

[10:25]

We said they were what color stripes?

[10:30]

Good listening.

[10:32]

Blue and gold.

[10:33]

And what color did we say the calm

[10:35]

hearts were?

[10:39]

Very good.

[10:40]

And this time on the wings, let's put

[10:45]

something for our office staff at our school.

[10:50]

All the great people that work in the

[10:52]

office.

[10:53]

What can we put on the wings for

[10:56]

the office staff?

[11:01]

And how about a thank you card?

[11:05]

You know, we could slow down and even

[11:07]

say thank you when we pass by the

[11:10]

office.

[11:11]

Here we go, butterflies.

[11:13]

Calm breath in.

[11:14]

Onto leg.

[11:16]

Calm breath out.

[11:18]

And up we go.

[11:19]

Calm breath in.

[11:21]

And calm breath out.

[11:23]

Good, everybody.

[11:23]

Together.

[11:24]

Calm breath in.

[11:26]

And calm breath out.

[11:29]

And one more.

[11:30]

Calm breath in.

[11:32]

And calm breath out.

[11:35]

Very nice.

[11:35]

Into the center.

[11:37]

Let's draw calm hearts for the wonderful office

[11:40]

staff at our school.

[11:41]

Draw one side of the calm hearts.

[11:44]

Draw other side of the calm hearts.

[11:47]

Calm breath in.

[11:48]

And calm breath out.

[11:51]

Very nice.

[11:51]

Back we go to easy pose.

[11:58]

We are going to move in a moment

[12:00]

and we're going to take opposite hand to

[12:05]

knee.

[12:07]

So not same hand to knee.

[12:11]

Opposite.

[12:13]

Opposite.

[12:15]

And we're going to slow down and focus.

[12:19]

And we will say slowing down helps focus.

[12:27]

Are you ready?

[12:29]

Let's stand.

[12:34]

Okay, everybody.

[12:35]

We're going to move carefully and say our

[12:39]

nice words.

[12:42]

First, step one.

[12:45]

Feet a little bit apart.

[12:47]

Stand nice and tall.

[12:48]

Calm breath in.

[12:50]

And calm breath out.

[12:53]

Step two.

[12:55]

Arms are up.

[12:56]

Calm breath in.

[12:58]

And calm breath out.

[13:01]

Now remember, it's not the same side.

[13:04]

It's opposite.

[13:08]

Opposite.

[13:09]

Ready?

[13:10]

We're going to say slowing down helps focus.

[13:17]

Here we go.

[13:18]

Slowing.

[13:20]

Down.

[13:22]

Helps.

[13:24]

Focus.

[13:26]

Again.

[13:27]

Slowing.

[13:29]

Down.

[13:31]

Helps.

[13:33]

Focus.

[13:35]

Slowing.

[13:39]

Down.

[13:40]

Helps.

[13:42]

Focus.

[13:44]

Very good.

[13:45]

Calm hearts.

[13:46]

Calm breath in.

[13:48]

And calm breath out.

[13:52]

Very nice.

[13:53]

Hands and arms are down.

[13:55]

Have a seat in easy pose.

[14:06]

Practicing our school meditation.

[14:10]

So we can see that we sit nice

[14:14]

and still for a little bit of time.

[14:18]

It really helps us.

[14:20]

It helps us to remember, oh yes, slowing

[14:24]

down and focus are two things that help

[14:31]

us to learn.

[14:34]

Yes.

[14:35]

So, calm brains are focused.

[14:42]

Calm hearts are peaceful.

[14:49]

We're learning.

[14:51]

Yes.

[14:52]

We are learning so much.

[14:54]

So let's practice together.

[14:58]

Are you ready?

[15:00]

Our hearts are calm today.

[15:05]

Our hearts are calm today.

[15:10]

Our hearts are calm today.

[15:18]

Our hearts are calm today.

[15:26]

Our hearts are calm today.

[15:54]

Good everyone.

[15:56]

Calm breath in.

[15:58]

And calm breath out.

[16:01]

And hands are down.

[16:04]

So, remembering my story.

[16:08]

Now, when I was at the grocery store

[16:11]

and then I got something to drink, somehow

[16:16]

I got a drink, blossom water, that had

[16:22]

artificial ingredients.

[16:25]

Not what I wanted.

[16:27]

No, no, no.

[16:30]

Why?

[16:31]

Why did I choose the blossom water?

[16:39]

Because I was moving too fast.

[16:42]

Yes.

[16:43]

And what two things would have helped me

[16:48]

make a better choice of drink?

[16:53]

Slowing down and focus.

[16:58]

Yes.

[16:59]

Everybody, when we slow down and focus, we

[17:05]

are really making our best choices with our

[17:09]

calm hearts.

[17:11]

Yes.

[17:12]

That's the way we learn.

[17:15]

Slowing down, focus.

[17:18]

Calm breathing, calm hearts.

[17:21]

So, please lift your calm hearts if you're

[17:22]

going to slow down today.

[17:26]

Please lift your calm hearts if you're going

[17:28]

to focus today.

[17:31]

Very good.

[17:33]

Let's end our class.

[17:34]

Calm breath in.

[17:36]

And calm breath out.

[17:38]

And calm breath in.

[17:41]

Smiling, calm hearts.

[17:44]

Thank you everybody.

[17:48]

We do practice our calm breathing, calm hearts

[17:50]

every day.

[17:55]

Smiling, calm hearts.

[17:57]

Open our learning.

[18:01]

And see you soon.

[18:11]

Bye.

[0:43]

Hi everybody, Ms. Kelly here.

[0:49]

We'll practice our school yoga together.

[0:52]

We sit in easy pose, we sit nice

[0:55]

and tall, hands together.

[0:59]

So slowing down and focused, oh very good

[1:09]

for us, very good for us.

[1:13]

When we slow down and when we focus,

[1:17]

we pay more attention to what we're doing.

[1:20]

We pay more attention to what we're saying.

[1:26]

We pay more attention to how we're feeling.

[1:32]

So if we are using our calm breathing

[1:40]

and calm hearts to slow down and to

[1:45]

focus, well, we are doing more peaceful things.

[1:54]

We are saying more peaceful things.

[1:59]

We are feeling more peaceful, yes.

[2:03]

Very good for us.

[2:05]

So we will slow down, we will focus

[2:08]

with our calm breathing, calm hearts today because

[2:11]

it opens up our learning, so much great

[2:14]

learning, hands together.

[2:17]

And we will sing our hearts are calm

[2:20]

today and hands are two calm hearts, good

[2:23]

everybody.

[2:24]

Calm breath in and calm breath out and

[2:29]

calm breath in and calm breath out, calm

[2:36]

breath in.

[2:36]

Our hearts are calm today, our hearts are

[2:43]

calm today, our hearts are calm today, calm

[2:50]

breath in and calm breath out, very nice.

[2:55]

Hands are down, let's move our arms and

[2:58]

hands in our pattern, let's say our positive

[3:01]

words, we are focused, we are peaceful together.

[3:06]

Okay, let's do and say this.

[3:12]

Slowing, better, focus,

[3:23]

here we go.

[3:24]

Slowing, focus.

[3:37]

Again, slowing, down, better,

[3:48]

focus, one more.

[3:51]

Slowing, down, better, focus,

[4:02]

excellent.

[4:02]

Our calm breathing, calm hearts, we practice, calm

[4:06]

breath in and calm breath out, calm breath

[4:12]

in and calm breath out.

[4:16]

We like to focus and pay attention, yes,

[4:20]

calm breath in and calm breath out, calm

[4:27]

breath in and calm breath out, slowing down

[4:33]

is good for us, calm breath in and

[4:38]

calm breath out, slowing down and focus with

[4:42]

calm hearts, calm breath in, calm breath out,

[4:48]

one more, calm breath in and calm breath

[4:54]

out, good everybody and hands are down.

[4:59]

So, remember, when we slow down and focus,

[5:07]

are we paying more attention or not so

[5:12]

much attention?

[5:13]

We're paying more attention and when we're slowing

[5:18]

down and focused, we're paying attention peacefully.

[5:24]

So, we have peaceful moving, peaceful thinking, peaceful

[5:35]

words, peaceful feelings, slow down and focus,

[5:45]

that's what we need for peaceful learning, good

[5:51]

everybody.

[5:52]
