SCHOOL Yoga & Mindfulness Practice Guidlines

The teacher sits on the floor or in a chair positioned at the front of the class, where they can see all the students.

All students sit on the reading rug in rows facing the teacher and the whiteboard (video lessons are projected onto the whiteboard).

Students sit in their usual learning spots.

Alternatively, all students can remain seated in their chairs (without leaning on the chair back so that they hold themselves upright).

Move chairs slightly away from desks for safe movement.

Avoid using mats, blankets, and cushions that cause extra distractions.

Students should have nothing in their hands.
- Students always keep their shoes on in the classroom to remain safe and avoid a fire hazard.
- Implement the program during the bell schedule to support classroom learning.
- Avoid using the program as a brain break or directly after recess (best use is between subjects).
- Practice inside the classroom (our usual place of learning).
- Normalize the SCHOOL Yoga & Mindfulness Program as a subject of study within the bell schedule.
